About the role#
The Sales and Management Intern supports store operations while learning the fundamentals of retail management. You will work closely with the Store Manager to understand how the business functions and what is required to lead a team. This role focuses on delivering a positive shopping experience for guests through sales, merchandising, and operational tasks.
What you'll do#
- Provide service to guests by helping with wardrobing, answering questions, and processing transactions.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals, educating teammates, and tracking results.
- Complete sections of the management manual covering orientation, leadership, and recruitment.
- Handle operational tasks including opening and closing cash registers, balancing drawers, and managing inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment to ensure merchandise is displayed effectively.
- Participate in regular progress updates and conference calls with management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a four-year college or university program related to Business Administration, Marketing, or Operations Management.
- Interest in a long-term commitment.
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs throughout the store and backroom.
- No prior experience or training is necessary for this role.
