About the role#
The Sales & Management Intern position focuses on creating an enjoyable shopping experience for guests. You will work closely with the Store Manager to learn how the retail business operates and what is required to excel in management. This is a paid, full-time, on-site internship.
What you'll do#
- Greet guests with a friendly attitude and provide helpful service.
- Recommend merchandise and assist guests with finding items.
- Check out and bag purchases.
- Prepare merchandise for alterations.
- Maintain and share knowledge of current sales, promotions, and store policies.
- Develop an understanding of Buckle products, sales presentations, and merchandising processes.
- Complete modules from the Buckle Management Manual, including orientation and leadership training.
- Manage a specific product category by setting sales goals and tracking results.
- Provide weekly progress reports to area and district management.
- Perform operational tasks such as opening and closing registers, handling freight, and maintaining store cleanliness.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or Psychology.
- No prior experience or training is necessary.
- Interest in a long-term commitment with the company.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, and weekends.
- Proficiency in Point of Sale (POS) procedures or the ability to learn them.
- Ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
