About the role#
The Information Security Operations Center (ISOC) protects Church networks, systems, and data across the globe. As an intern, you will join a technical security team tasked with defending these assets day and night. This role provides hands-on experience in a 24/7 security environment, offering a clear path for professional development through mentorship and structured training.
What you'll do#
- Identify, analyze, and respond to cyber threats.
- Perform technical analysis on events to determine if they are malicious and assess their impact.
- Analyze logs from networks, applications, security sensors, and endpoints.
- Use enterprise security tools to help develop solutions.
- Mentor with experienced IT professionals.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or within one year of graduation from an accredited college or university, with a focus on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Current temple worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
- Understanding of IP networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with system administration, including Linux and Windows.
- Technical analysis skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to management.
Location & details#
- Location: Riverton, Utah.
- Modality: On-site, remote, and hybrid options available.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week for approximately 4 months. The shift structure involves 12-hour shifts for 3 consecutive days, plus 4 hours for meetings and training.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Compensation: Paid internship with the option to enroll in a high deductible medical plan.
