About the role#
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking IT Engineer interns to support our IT department. Interns help maintain and update hardware and software systems used by the Church. This is a full-time, paid internship lasting approximately 4 months, with start dates in Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provision and deploy network and server hardware globally.
- Assist with migrations from on-premise data centers to cloud providers including AWS, Azure, and Google.
- Monitor system activity to identify outages or system overloads.
- Implement system monitoring and reporting technology using ServiceNow.
- Respond to incidents and fulfill common requests from IT customers.
- Replace or upgrade existing hardware within data centers.
- Manage and update the Configuration Management Database.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or graduation within one year from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cybersecurity.
- Current temple worthy member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
- Experience with system administration and data center environments.
- Knowledge of network components such as switches, routers, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of IP addresses, DNS, DHCP, and OSI models.
- Strong technical and creative writing skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Riverton, Utah.
- Modality: On-site, hybrid, or remote options available.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, typically Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.
