    About the role#

    The Software Procurement Specialist supports the intake and tracking of software requests for BYU-Pathway Worldwide. This role fosters collaboration between Information Communication Services and the Church Education System to ensure requests move through the correct review, approval, and procurement channels. You will report to the Director of Technology Operations and work closely with project managers and various stakeholders to maintain visibility into active requests.

    What you'll do#

    • Receive, organize, and track software requests from employees and departments.
    • Maintain an accurate request tracker, including details, assigned owners, priorities, status, key dates, and outcomes.
    • Help determine appropriate routing through vendor management, IT purchasing, or other review groups.
    • Coordinate with requestors to gather information, clarify business needs, and provide status updates.
    • Serve as a communication point between project managers, vendor management, purchasing, privacy, security, legal, and AI review teams.
    • Prepare meeting agendas, request summaries, status reports, and follow-up documentation.
    • Monitor requests through review and approval processes to ensure timely resolution by tracking action items, owners, and blockers.
    • Support governance efforts that promote responsible technology adoption, frugal purchasing, and compliance with organizational policies.
    • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to standardize intake, triage, routing, and reporting.

    What you'll need#

    • Experience organizing, tracking, or coordinating multiple tasks, projects, or deadlines.
    • Experience maintaining trackers, spreadsheets, reports, or status updates.
    • Experience working effectively in a collaborative team environment.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, spreadsheets, and forms.
    • Understanding of request tracking, prioritization, and project support practices.
    • Familiarity with software review, approval, procurement, and governance processes.
    • Basic knowledge of privacy, security, legal, and compliance considerations related to technology.
    • Understanding of cross-functional collaboration and communication practices.
    • Only members of the Church who are worthy of a temple recommend qualify for employment.
    • Must reside in Utah or Idaho.

    Location & details#

    • This is a part-time, on-site position based at the BYU-Pathway Worldwide headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
    • You must be able to work on-site at least one day per week, typically on Wednesdays.
    • Expected working hours are Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 5 pm.
