About the role#
The Legal Research Intern position offers J.D. students the opportunity to apply their legal education to real business challenges. You will work with legal professionals to navigate healthcare regulations, support compliance initiatives, and contribute to strategic projects. This role provides hands-on experience in a corporate setting, helping you build professional relationships and develop practical skills for your legal career.
What you'll do#
- Conduct legal research and translate your findings into practical recommendations for business and compliance decisions.
- Review, draft, and revise contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Support the development of policies and procedures to strengthen compliance and operational effectiveness.
- Analyze legal and regulatory developments to help evaluate their impact on the organization.
- Partner with attorneys and business stakeholders on projects to improve processes and solve problems.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one year of law school prior to the start date.
- Current enrollment in an accredited Juris Doctor (J.D.) program in good academic standing.
- Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A collaborative work style, intellectual curiosity, and a growth mindset.
- Ability to use technology and AI-enabled tools responsibly for research and analysis.
Location & details#
- Locations: Bloomfield, Connecticut or St. Louis, Missouri.
- Term: Summer 2027 (May 24 through July 30, 2027).
- Modality: Hybrid (3 to 4 days per week in the office).
- Status: Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $35.00 to $37.00 per hour, depending on degree program and year of study.
- Note: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
