About the role#
We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our coastal infrastructure team for the Summer 2027 term. You will work alongside experienced engineers to gain hands-on experience in waterfront engineering. This role involves applying your classroom knowledge to real-world projects that support navigation and protect coastlines.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with team members on project deliverables for dredging, environmental permitting, and coastal engineering.
- Conduct topographic and hydrographic surveys alongside certified staff.
- Perform 3D drone scans.
- Assist with structural inspections and construction oversight.
- Support design work using AutoCAD.
- Prepare local, state, and federal permit documents.
- Help with data management and report preparation.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or a similar field from an ABET-accredited program.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Practical experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- The role is based on-site in Newport, Rhode Island or Marion, Massachusetts.
- The term for this position is Summer 2027.
