About the role#
As a Civil Engineering Intern on our Transportation Design team, you will contribute to real infrastructure projects. This role is based in our Des Moines office and offers hands-on experience alongside our engineering professionals during the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Prepare roadway and transportation design plans using OpenRoads Designer and other software.
- Help develop construction documents, technical reports, and cost estimates.
- Complete data analysis and basic engineering calculations.
- Work with project managers, engineers, and fellow interns on multidisciplinary projects.
- Attend team meetings, client presentations, and site visits.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's Degree program for Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- Previous experience in civil engineering through a co-op or internship.
- Proficiency with MicroStation Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil3D.
