About the role#
The Toro Company is seeking a Spatial Data R&D Intern for the Summer 2027 program. This full-time, on-site position is based in Bloomington, Minnesota, and runs from May 17, 2027, through August 6, 2027. This is a paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop tools to ingest, curate, model, and visualize spatial data collections.
- Conduct customer site assessments using spatial data to support improved machine performance and sustainability.
- Perform literature reviews to identify potential applications for relevant models, algorithms, and methods.
- Collaborate with team members and external partners to manage experiments that simulate customer requirements.
- Assist in the development, testing, maintenance, and operation of sensing systems for landscape applications.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate junior, senior, or masters candidate in GIS, Computer Science, Data Science, or a relevant science and engineering discipline.
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, QGIS, or programmatic spatial data analysis tools.
- Motivation, self-direction, and the ability to communicate efficiently with team members.
- Experience with MySQL, PHP, HTML, and JavaScript is preferred.
