    About the role#

    The American Indian Student Services (AISS) department is looking for a recent graduate to join their team as a Professional Support Intern. This role provides on-the-job training while supporting the University of New Mexico's goals for student enrollment, retention, and graduation. You will work on-site to assist with college transition initiatives, mentorship programs, and leadership development for students.

    What you'll do#

    • Create and support student-led programming, including coaching student employees for workshops and summer bridge programs.
    • Develop content for social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
    • Provide administrative services for daily department operations under staff supervision.
    • Help plan and carry out initiatives related to academic advising, financial aid, and student support services.
    • Collect, maintain, and analyze data on program activities to help create statistical and narrative reports.
    • Assist with the design and execution of recruitment outreach, student engagement, and department events.
    • Represent the department in university-wide programming initiatives.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be a recent college graduate.
    • Preferred majors include Communications, Business Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Anthropology, or Human Resources.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Networking expertise.
    • Experience collaborating with diverse constituents, tribal governments, and entities focused on Indigenous communities.

    • Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico.
    • This is an on-site, full-time, paid internship.
    • The term is rolling.
