About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship for students interested in vaccine sciences. You will work on-site in Richmond, Virginia, gaining experience in analytical instrumentation and laboratory procedures. This program serves as a pipeline for future leadership roles within the company, and we look for interns who demonstrate the potential to transition into full-time positions after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Train on the operation, maintenance, and theory of analytical instrumentation, standard operating procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform routine sample preparation, cell culture, and analysis procedures to measure pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical compounds.
- Review and compile results, comparing data against established acceptance criteria, protocols, and product specifications.
- Maintain high-end automated equipment and develop troubleshooting skills for hardware and software.
- Solve problems related to extraction or instrumentation with guidance from your team.
- Build your professional communication and time management skills.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related Health/Life Science.
- You are scheduled to graduate between December 2027 and June 2028.
- You have at least one year of previous internship or work experience.
- You have a track record of leadership in student organizations, athletics, volunteer work, or other campus programs.
- You can navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and solve complex problems.
- You possess strong learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and an innovative mindset.
- You are able to work on-site and are geographically flexible for future opportunities.
- You are legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.

- Pay: The hourly rate for this position is $21.50 - $28.75.
