About the role#
We are looking for a Design and Test intern to assist with the design, documentation, and testing of new products and features. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Mississauga. We are seeking candidates for a 4-month term from January 11, 2027, to April 30, 2027, though we are open to 8-month or 12-month placements.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the design and development of a novel medical device.
- Design test fixtures or write test scripts to support hardware and software testing.
- Create, maintain, and execute verification and validation test protocols.
- Write test reports and establish traceability from requirements to validation.
- Assemble prototypes for R&D parts, fixtures, and jigs.
- Support activities related to regulatory standards for medical devices.
- Maintain an organized and clean testing lab.
What you'll need#
- High interest in medical device technology and exoskeletons.
- Hands-on experience with mechatronics systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in a medical device company or a highly regulated environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Solidworks, Onshape, and 3D printing is preferred.
- Experience with Python scripts and Linux is preferred.
- Familiarity with risk management processes like FMEA or Fault Tree Analysis is preferred.
- Exposure to quality management systems used in medical device manufacturing is preferred.
