About the role#
This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in construction management. You will work as part of a project team, supporting the daily activities required to build and manage complex construction projects. This role is designed to help you apply your academic knowledge to real-world tasks while learning about project lifecycles, safety protocols, and subcontractor coordination.
What you'll do#
- Assist with day-to-day project activities, including meeting coordination, file management, and document control.
- Support the project team by tracking materials and preparing progress reports.
- Help with project start-up tasks, shop drawings, submittals, and RFI processes.
- Observe and document field activities during site visits.
- Communicate with subcontractors and trades to track job schedules.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, estimates for changes in work, and subcontractor proposals.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and ensure proper PPE usage.
- Assist with project close-out preparations.
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program, such as Civil Engineering or related fields.
- At least 1 year of completed education.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- A strong desire to work in construction management.
- Ability to work standard business hours and overtime as needed.
- Clear verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, curious mindset with the ability to work independently or in a team.
- Personal and professional accountability.
