About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for the Fall 2026 term based in Indianapolis. You will work on-site to gain foundational knowledge in construction management, project safety, and subcontractor relations. This position is designed to support your professional development and may provide learning that applies to your educational credits.
What you'll do#
- Assist the project team with daily tasks including material tracking, file management, and document control.
- Support the Project Engineer, Superintendent, or Project Manager with project start-up and close-out activities.
- Collect and review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Attend site visits to observe and document field activities.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to track schedules and distribute proposals.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and estimates for changes in work.
- Monitor contractor compliance with safety programs and wear required PPE.
- Participate in training sessions, meetings, and project orientations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited degree program, preferably in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management.
- At least one year of completed education or equivalent training.
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms.
- A proactive, curious mindset and a desire to learn about the construction industry.
- Capacity to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Commitment to standard business hours and occasional overtime as required by the assignment.
