    About the role#

    This is a full-time, 12-week summer internship running from May through August 2027. You will work on-site in Lawrence, Kansas, gaining experience in mechanical contracting. The role includes orientation, job walks, and community service events. You will work alongside our team to gain relevant industry experience.

    What you'll do#

    • Shadow project organization, estimating, manufacturing, and LEAN processes.
    • Participate in safety and quality programs.
    • Support Metalworks roles during safety and quality events.
    • Help office leadership research operational challenges related to the facility and grounds.
    • Research functional changes within manufacturing processes.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a bachelor or master degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture Engineering, Construction Science, or Business.
    • Interest in mechanical contracting.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Effective communication and leadership skills.
    • Self-motivation and professional relationship-building skills.
    • Basic business acumen and an appetite to learn.

    • Location: Lawrence, KS.
    • Work modality: On-site.
    • Duration: Summer 2027.
    • Compensation: $19 to $23 per hour.
    • Requirements: Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
