    About the role#

    This is a full-time internship lasting 10 to 12 weeks, running from May through August 2026. You will work alongside project managers to plan and coordinate construction activities. The goal is to help ensure projects meet their objectives on time and within budget. You will apply your academic background to real-world construction challenges while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

    What you'll do#

    • Prepare technical documentation, including reports, RFI’s, and submittals.
    • Coordinate project tasks, schedules, and resource allocation.
    • Conduct site visits and inspections to verify installations and gather data.
    • Troubleshoot engineering issues during design and implementation.
    • Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and project managers.
    • Document substitution requests and record project meeting minutes.
    • Help project managers build and maintain client relationships.
    • Create and update productivity reports.
    • Participate in company training sessions and workshops.

    What you'll need#

    • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, Architectural Engineering, or a similar field.
    • Experience with HVAC, piping, or plumbing in commercial, industrial, or institutional settings.
    • Knowledge of construction engineering processes, standards, and technology.
    • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
    • Self-motivation and the ability to identify potential problems early.
    • A basic level of business acumen.
    • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, bend, and kneel during site visits.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Kansas City, Missouri.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $19 to $23 per hour.
    • Status: Full-time internship.
    • Requirements: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
