About the role#
We are looking for a student assistant to work with the Accounts Payable managers in the Financial Services Division. This part-time position offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in accounting while supporting the team with daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Prepare entry level journal entries and reconciliations.
- Track returned warrants and receivables.
- Analyze accounts for delinquency.
- Prepare documentation to assist staff with write offs.
- Collect and prepare statistical data in Excel.
- Assist with setting up various templates in Excel.
- Prepare, route, and mail letters and warrants.
- Save documents according to policy.
- Monitor and respond to questions to support stakeholders.
- Assist customers with tasks such as locking and unlocking payments.
- Contact members and employers as needed.
What you'll need#
- You must be a college student currently attending classes.
- Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least six-semester units or nine quarter units.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in at least four-semester units or six quarter units.
- Your major must be in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or Statistics.
- You need a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power Point, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is required.
- You must be reliable and punctual.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
