    About the role#

    The College of Engineering and Computer Science is hiring Instructional Student Assistants for the Peer-Assisted Learning (PAL) program. This role supports students in gateway engineering and computer science courses through cooperative learning. Facilitators work 8 hours per week and participate in a 2-unit graded training course.

    What you'll do#

    • Facilitate PAL sessions for students.
    • Attend lectures for the main course.
    • Hold office hours to support student learning.
    • Assist in supervising laboratory periods, workshops, or production courses.
    • Clarify course material and content for students.
    • Prepare course materials and learning aids.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment at Sac State with at least six semester units.
    • A minimum GPA of 3.0.
    • A grade of B+ or higher in the specific course you intend to facilitate.
    • A recommendation from a STEM faculty member.
    • Enrollment in the ENGR 197 training course is recommended.
    • Majors accepted include Civil, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Sacramento, California.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $16.90 per hour.
    • Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday.
    • This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited position.
