About the role#
The California Department of Motor Vehicles is hiring a student assistant for its Digital Transformation Office. You will work on business process analysis, AI model evaluation, and reporting. This is a part-time, temporary position that requires enrollment as a college student at an accredited institution.
What you'll do#
- Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities.
- Prepare datasets, perform data validation, and support AI model evaluation.
- Develop dashboards, visual reports, and project metrics.
- Create user guides, training materials, and knowledge-based content.
- Research AI trends and assist with executive presentations.
- Support project reporting, risk tracking, and deployment readiness activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a college student in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Basic understanding of web development concepts like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Familiarity with data analysis principles.
- Ability to learn new software tools quickly.
Location & details#
- Location: DMV Headquarters in Sacramento, California.
- Modality: Hybrid.
- Compensation: $16.90 to $22.70 per hour.
- Schedule: Flexible hours between 8 AM and 5 PM, Monday through Friday. You may work up to 24 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours during breaks.
- Requirements: You must reside in California and perform all work within the state. You must be enrolled in at least six semester units or nine quarter units for undergraduates, or four semester units or six quarter units for graduate students.
