    About the role#

    USA Rare Earth is seeking an Engineering Intern to support manufacturing initiatives for next-generation rare earth magnets. You will gain hands-on experience in process development, manufacturing optimization, equipment design, and materials analysis. This role involves working alongside technical teams to help rebuild the domestic supply chain for critical minerals.

    What you'll do#

    • Support engineering projects for magnet manufacturing, materials processing, and production scale-up.
    • Assist in testing, evaluating, and improving rare earth magnet production processes.
    • Collect and analyze engineering data to support technical decisions.
    • Help troubleshoot technical issues in pilot and production environments.
    • Work with cross-functional teams including R&D, operations, and quality.
    • Assist with equipment design, process documentation, and technical reporting.
    • Maintain records of experiments, testing results, and project progress.
    • Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality procedures.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree program for Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, Industrial, or a related engineering discipline.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • A desire to learn in a hands-on environment.
    • Interest in advanced manufacturing, materials science, or clean energy technologies.
    • Familiarity with tools such as CAD software, data analysis programs, or laboratory instrumentation.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and technical excellence.

    • Location: Stillwater, Oklahoma.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • This is a full-time, paid internship with a rolling term.
    • The work environment includes a mix of office, manufacturing floor, and construction site settings.
