About the role#
As a Student Nurse Assistant, you will work with nursing staff to care for acutely ill patients. You will gain experience in a hospital setting while working under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse. This is a year-round position with flexible scheduling that accounts for your school commitments. The role requires a minimum of one 8 to 12 hour shift per week, with opportunities to pick up more hours based on availability.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct physical care to patients in situations where you have demonstrated competency and knowledge of technique.
- Work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse while caring for patients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program, either Associate or Bachelor of Science.
- Successful completion of your program's hands-on entry-level clinical course.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Previous health care experience is preferred.
- Completion of the SNA Supplemental Packet is required for your application to be considered.
Location & details#
- Location: Madison, Wisconsin.
- Pay: $18 per hour, plus differentials for weekends, evenings, and nights.
- Schedule: This position is 20% FTE, which is 16 hours per pay period. Shifts are generally every other weekend and may include day, evening, or night hours. Holidays and weekends may be required.
