About the role#
This is a 12-week internship program focused on advanced manufacturing. You will work alongside industry experts to design and build space hardware and software. Your work will directly contribute to the systems required to operate human-rated space stations. We have several engineering internship focus areas, and you will be placed on a team that aligns with your specific background and expertise.
What you'll do#
- Design and build space hardware and software.
- Contribute to the development and construction of systems for human-rated space stations.
- Solve real-world engineering problems across various hiring teams.
- Collaborate with different teams to complete project goals.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master’s degree program in mechanical, aerospace, electrical, industrial, or a related engineering discipline.
- Ability to work full-time on-site.
- Demonstrated application of technical skills outside of the classroom through projects, research, or prior work experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation.
- Working knowledge of analysis tools and engineering equipment.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
- A self-directed approach, positive attitude, and team spirit.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship.
- Positions are located on-site in Long Beach, CA or Hawthorne, CA.
- This role is open on a rolling basis.
- Please note that this role requires access to information subject to U.S. export controls. Candidates must be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62.
