About the role#
As a Human Resources Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in core People Operations, Talent Management, and HR Business Partner workflows. You will work within the Nuclear Operations Group at the Mt. Vernon site to support talent management, workforce planning, and employee engagement. This role offers exposure to HR strategy and project administration while you work alongside HR leadership and managers.
What you'll do#
- Assist with projects focused on FLSA classification and compensation.
- Research and recommend improvements to transition paper-based HR processes to electronic formats.
- Administer and analyze employee feedback from onboarding, engagement, pulse, and exit interviews.
- Summarize qualitative employee sentiment data to help identify workplace trends.
- Support HR Business Partners with documentation and action-item tracking.
- Audit and update HR records and resources for employees and managers.
- Assist with seasonal HR initiatives and special projects as they arise.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Human Resources or a related field.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a DOE clearance.

- Status: Full-time, paid internship at $26.78 per hour.
