About the role#
BWXT is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Lynchburg, Virginia. Interns will engage in engineering projects within a nuclear environment and have the opportunity to present their completed work to the leadership team at the end of the 10-12 week program. A housing stipend is available for those whose home of record is more than 50 miles from the site.
What you'll do#
- Develop and deliver engineering solutions tailored for nuclear applications.
- Create and update technical drawings and procedures.
- Participate in design testing, analysis, and project management.
- Assist with the procurement of materials.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- US Citizenship is required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
