About the role#
This is a full-time internship with WEC Energy Group based in Union Grove, Wisconsin. The position runs during the summer of 2027. You will work on-site and receive compensation at an hourly rate between $23.10 and $27.55, along with paid company holidays. Please note that this role does not offer work visa sponsorship.
What you'll do#
- Apply your classroom learning to real-world engineering projects.
- Combine engineering science with communication and team-building skills.
- Gain hands-on experience in Power Generation, including plant and project engineering.
- Assist with planning, technical support, and environmental compliance activities.
- Monitor and evaluate equipment and system performance to maintain safety and reliability.
What you'll need#
- A High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program for Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related major with a graduation date after July 2027.
- A minimum GPA of 2.8.
- A valid driver's license.
- Experience in a mechanical setting, such as automotive work, is preferred.
- Proficiency with Excel and database software is preferred.
