    About the role#

    WSP is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering (Substation) Intern for the summer of 2027. This 12-week program, starting May 17, 2027, provides hands-on experience working alongside senior staff on power and energy projects. You will participate in mentorship and networking opportunities through the Developing Professionals Network.

    What you'll do#

    • Support engineering tasks to build technical and ethical skills.
    • Learn the basic principles of electrical engineering.
    • Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
    • Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
    • Collect and maintain project documentation.
    • Complete assigned training and follow company policies.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Graduation date of August 2027 or later.
    • Must be at least 18 years old.
    • Authorization to work in the United States.
    • Proficiency in technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
    • Ability to follow direction from managers and mentors.
    • A record of upholding workplace safety standards.
    • Prior coursework in Power Systems is preferred.
    • A GPA of 2.5 or higher and previous internship or leadership experience are preferred.

    • This position is located in Maitland, Florida.
    • The role is on-site.
    • This is a paid internship.
