About the role#
WSP is seeking a full-time Electrical Engineering Intern to join our Power and Energy team in Joplin, Missouri. This position is part of our 12-week summer program, which is scheduled to begin on May 17, 2027. You will work alongside senior staff on real projects to gain hands-on experience and professional development.
What you'll do#
- Support a variety of engineering tasks to build your technical and ethical skills.
- Learn the basic principles of electrical engineering.
- Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
- Help prepare final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
- Collect and maintain project documentation.
- Complete assigned training tasks.
- Adhere to company policies and the Code of Conduct while managing resources responsibly.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited undergraduate program for Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- An anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- A demonstrated interest in electrical engineering and a desire to advance your skills.
- Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and spreadsheets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to take direction from mentors and managers.
- A proven track record of workplace safety and adherence to health and conduct policies.
- Prior internship or campus leadership experience is preferred.
