About the role#
The Outage Coordination Engineer Intern supports the planning, coordination, and analysis of transmission and substation outages. You will work with engineers, system operators, and project managers to maintain system reliability and support construction and maintenance activities. This role offers exposure to electric transmission operations and outage scheduling processes.
What you'll do#
- Conduct real-time and day-ahead studies of the transmission system.
- Coordinate, sequence, plan, and process requests for transmission outages.
- Analyze the impact of outages and create reports, spreadsheets, and presentations to support decision-making.
- Apply transmission operations, reliability, and safety requirements to real-world planning tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Sophomore status or higher as of Fall 2027.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- An interest in the energy industry.
