About the role#
Zachry Nuclear Engineering is hiring a Cyber Security Specialist I Intern to support power plant projects. You will assist with planning and organizing cyber security activities for modifications at nuclear power facilities. This role involves working on project teams to evaluate plant conditions and proposed modifications to improve safety, reliability, and performance. You will receive close supervision on complex tasks and general review for your daily work.
What you'll do#
- Perform cyber security implementation and assessment activities.
- Develop DA/CDA lists and perform CDA assessments.
- Conduct cyber security walkdowns and testing.
- Prepare Cyber Security Assessment Team (CSAT) presentations.
- Define design scope and develop design criteria documents.
- Develop specifications and modification packages.
- Identify and select equipment, and configure and test digital devices.
What you'll need#
- A BS in Computer Science or an equivalent degree. Cyber certifications with relevant experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of cyber security concepts and 0 to 2 years of experience in an engineering environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint, plus competency in email and database software.
- Effective time management skills.
- Ability to pass security and drug screenings and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- An MS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering is preferred.
- Current qualification to write cyber security assessments or existing badged status at a licensed nuclear facility is preferred.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site internship with a rolling term.
- Locations: Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC.
- Overtime work is required.
- Travel to client sites is required, with occasional periods of field or office work.
- Sponsorship is not provided, and relocation assistance is not available.
