About the role#
Zachry Group is seeking an intern for the Engineer I Civil/Structural position. You will work under the supervision of senior engineering staff on power plant upgrades and new projects. This role involves applying standard engineering methods to evaluate conditions and develop design changes that improve plant safety, reliability, and performance.
What you'll do#
- Perform various engineering and design activities.
- Complete calculations and modifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to evaluate site conditions.
- Develop design changes to improve plant systems.
- Perform equipment walk downs in industrial environments.
What you'll need#
- A BS in civil (structural) engineering from an accredited program.
- Knowledge of industry codes including ACI, AISC, and ASCE 7.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Effective time management to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to pass security and drug screenings.
- Ability to maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, and access controlled hazardous areas.
