About the role#
This position sits on the New Product Introduction (NPI) team. You will help us manage hardware design changes and improve our ability to implement them at high volume. Your work supports our efforts to scale operations across the United States and beyond while maintaining a high velocity for design improvements.
What you'll do#
- Build a tool to visualize hardware changes over time, track how product configurations evolve, and display hardware capabilities at specific timestamps.
- Create a tool that evaluates configuration compatibility across hardware revisions and summarizes capabilities for specific configurations.
- Develop a user interface for submitting engineering changes that standardizes information, reduces errors, and generates clear summaries for technical and non-technical audiences.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's degree program for mechanical engineering, computer science, information systems, data science, or a related technical field.
- Experience building software, data, dashboard, or automation tools through coursework, personal projects, research, or prior internships.
- Familiarity with a technical tool or language such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, APIs, spreadsheets, databases, or low-code platforms.
- Ability to gather user requirements, ask clarifying questions, and turn ambiguous problems into clear workflows or interfaces.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical outputs to non-technical audiences and incorporate feedback.
- Strong analytical and systems-thinking skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage changing priorities.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in South San Francisco, California.
- The term runs from January to April 2027.
- This position is paid.
