About the role#
As a Fire Alarm Design Intern, you will work on various fire suppression system projects. This role provides hands-on experience in the construction industry, allowing you to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world design and project management tasks.
What you'll do#
- Design layouts for fire alarm and special hazards fire protection systems.
- Perform computer-generated hydraulic calculations.
- Prepare submittal drawings to secure building permits.
- Conduct 3D BIM coordination using NavisWorks.
- Assist with project scheduling and material stock listing for pre-fabrication.
- Perform on-site field surveys.
- Create installation drawings and prepare close-out and operation and maintenance documents.
What you'll need#
- Good academic standing.
- Prior experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Strong math and analytical skills are preferred.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is helpful.
