    About the role#

    The Center for Israel Studies is looking for a student to assist the Program Manager with projects and programs throughout the academic year. This is a part-time role for students interested in non-profit work, international affairs, or public relations. The position runs from the start of the fall semester through the end of the spring semester.

    What you'll do#

    • Create promotional materials and manage social media accounts.
    • Assist with department events, lectures, and event photography.
    • Perform office administrative tasks.
    • Conduct research, editing, and data analysis.
    • Support the planning of over 20 events per year.

    What you'll need#

    • You must be an enrolled American University student.
    • You are organized and dependable.
    • You have skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • You are comfortable representing the university and the Center at public events.
    • Prior office experience is helpful but not required.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Schedule: Part-time, 5 hours per week. Hours are flexible and may include evening or weekend event support.
    • Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
    • Term: Fall 2026 through Winter 2027.
    • Eligibility: Preference is given to candidates with an active Federal Work Study award.
