About the role#
The Center for Israel Studies is looking for a student to assist the Program Manager with projects and programs throughout the academic year. This is a part-time role for students interested in non-profit work, international affairs, or public relations. The position runs from the start of the fall semester through the end of the spring semester.
What you'll do#
- Create promotional materials and manage social media accounts.
- Assist with department events, lectures, and event photography.
- Perform office administrative tasks.
- Conduct research, editing, and data analysis.
- Support the planning of over 20 events per year.
What you'll need#
- You must be an enrolled American University student.
- You are organized and dependable.
- You have skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- You are comfortable representing the university and the Center at public events.
- Prior office experience is helpful but not required.
Location & details#
- Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, 5 hours per week. Hours are flexible and may include evening or weekend event support.
- Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
- Term: Fall 2026 through Winter 2027.
- Eligibility: Preference is given to candidates with an active Federal Work Study award.
