About the role#
The Industry Engagement team at the Kogod School of Business supports career development for undergraduate and graduate students. As an Event and Operations Assistant, you will help plan and manage events while handling daily administrative tasks. This is a part-time, paid position. We prefer candidates who can commit to both the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
What you'll do#
- Assist with event logistics and provide day-of support, including setup, check-in, and vendor coordination.
- Prepare materials, supplies, and event kits to ensure professional event execution.
- Perform general office administrative duties such as copying, restocking supplies, and maintaining shared spaces.
- Execute data entry tasks related to events and provide general project support.
- Support event check-in processes and troubleshoot basic technical issues using career services platforms.
- Provide customer service to students, employers, faculty, and staff.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate student at American University.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability and willingness to lift up to 25lbs and move furniture.
- Maturity and an elevated level of professionalism.
- Majors in Business Administration or Communications are preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Main Campus, Washington, DC.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: 7 to 10 hours per week, with flexibility for daytime and evening events.
- Term: Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
