    About the role#

    We are hiring a Research Assistant to support our team with phone interviews and data collection. This role is for students interested in gaining hands-on experience with research methodologies. You will help document abortion care from a sociological perspective.

    What you'll do#

    • Conduct phone interviews with participants according to our research protocol.
    • Record data accurately in databases or spreadsheets.
    • Manage the scheduling of interviews and follow-up calls.
    • Protect participant confidentiality and privacy at all times.
    • Participate in team meetings and provide regular status updates.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as an undergraduate or recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Sociology or Public Health.
    • Excellent verbal communication skills and comfort making phone calls.
    • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with basic research methods and data collection techniques.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    Location & details#

    • Location: On-site at the American University main campus in Washington, DC.
    • Hours: Part-time, 10 hours per week.
    • Compensation: $18.40 per hour.
    • Eligibility: This position is available only to currently enrolled American University students.
