About the role#
As a Strategic Finance Intern within the Office of the CFO, you will support teams that provide advisory services to mid-sized firms, Fortune 500 companies, and private equity clients. You will work on projects focused on financial performance, operational efficiency, and organizational strategy. This is a full-time, paid internship based in Chicago.
What you'll do#
- Build business partnerships through long-range planning, budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
- Create management reporting packages that track key performance indicators.
- Use data analytics and visualization tools to influence decision-making.
- Improve working capital and provide transparency into cash flow forecasting.
- Optimize finance and accounting processes and service delivery models.
- Assist with transaction readiness, liquidity events, and business integrations.
- Identify and apply artificial intelligence and automation to improve finance operations.
- Address audit committee and board concerns while managing enterprise risk.
- Assess finance organization strategies, operating models, and design.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and interpretative skills.
- Experience with AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies.
- Intellectual curiosity and the ability to solve complex problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and integrity.

- Location: Chicago, Illinois.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to 80%.
- Compensation: $34 per hour.
- Sponsorship: This role requires permanent authorization to work in the U.S. and is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
