About the role#
Austin Industrial, Inc. is hiring a Project Safety Intern for a paid, full-time summer internship. This 12-week program provides hands-on experience on heavy civil construction projects. You will work directly with experienced professionals to learn about safety management, hazard recognition, and industry compliance.
What you'll do#
- Conduct daily jobsite walkthroughs to identify and report potential safety hazards.
- Assist with safety inspections, audits, and reviews of active heavy civil construction projects.
- Support incident and accident investigations, including collecting information and preparing reports.
- Participate in weekly project safety meetings and assist with meeting documentation.
- Help develop and deliver safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and safety communications.
What you'll need#
- Active junior or senior college student status.
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Safety Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field.
- Targeted graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
