    About the role#

    The Black Gospel Archive Student Assistant supports the daily operations of the archive at Baylor University. You will work with the director and staff to provide administrative and visitor support while helping prepare the space for classes, research, and events. This role is open to students in History, Communications, Media Studies, Art, and Anthropology.

    What you'll do#

    • Maintain a professional presence at the front desk.
    • Greet visitors, answer questions, and provide basic orientation to the collections.
    • Prepare the archive for meetings, classes, and other scheduled activities.
    • Assist staff with digitization, metadata creation, and inventory tasks.
    • Organize and maintain archival materials.

    What you'll need#

    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Attention to detail and good organizational habits.
    • An interest in archives, music, and cultural preservation.
    • Ability to work both independently and with a team.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Moody Library, Waco, Texas.
    • Schedule: Up to 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday between 9 am and 4 pm.
    • Pay: $10.00 per hour.
    • Status: Paid, on-site position.
