About the role#
This position supports the Study Skills Center (SSC) located in the Learning Commons of the Sid Richardson Building. Academic Coaches provide direct assistance to students who need help with executive functioning, time management, and study strategies. This is a paid, part-time role for graduate students.
What you'll do#
- Provide guidance on topics such as note-taking, reading comprehension, test preparation, and building study tools.
- Connect students with relevant on-campus resources like tutoring or academic mentoring.
- Manage student check-ins and appointment summaries using the Navigate Kiosk platform.
- Organize and restock materials within the center.
- Host workshops and give presentations on study-related topics as requested by faculty or staff.
- Create materials for distribution at the SSC and other campus events.
What you'll need#
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good organizational abilities.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Enrollment as a graduate student, with preference for majors in Psychology, Communications, Business Administration, or Health Administration.
Location & details#
- Location: Sid Richardson Building, The Learning Commons, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: Up to 20 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.
- Term: Fall 2026.
- Pay: $15.00 per hour.
