About the role#
Athletics Tutors work with the Student-Athlete Center for Excellence at Baylor University. You will assist student-athletes with their coursework and help them prepare for exams. Tutoring sessions happen in-person, either one-on-one or in small groups of two students. This position is paid at $10.00 per hour.
What you'll do#
- Help students in specific academic subjects as needed.
- Identify educational needs and foster student growth.
- Prepare for and lead tutoring sessions.
- Submit session reports and complete required training.
- Maintain student confidentiality and follow all academic honesty policies.
- Provide helpful customer service to all constituents.
What you'll need#
- A cumulative or major GPA of at least 3.0.
- You must have earned a grade of B or higher in the courses you intend to tutor.
- Availability for at least four hours per week, including one consistent weeknight.
- Willingness to complete all required training sessions.
- Majors in Psychology, Communications, or Human Resources are welcome to apply.
Location & details#
- Work takes place on-site at the Simpson Athletic Complex in Waco, Texas.
- This role is available for the Summer and Fall 2026 terms.
