About the role#
Baylor University is hiring a Student Worker to assist with daily operations at the Fair Trade Market. This position involves direct customer interaction and general upkeep of the market space. You will gain experience in marketing outreach and creative design while supporting the off-campus community service department. This role is open for the Fall 2026 term and requires Federal Work-Study eligibility.
What you'll do#
- Greet customers and provide friendly service.
- Process sales by bagging items and writing up tickets.
- Maintain the market appearance through light dusting and arranging product displays.
- Price incoming inventory and assist with market decorations.
- Perform general computer and phone tasks.
- Assist with marketing trends, communications, and print or digital design projects.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Art, or Graphic Design programs.
- Experience with customer service and point of sale systems.
- Proficiency with computers and clear communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with staff as part of a team.
- Reliable transportation to the off-campus work site.
Location & details#
- Location: Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: 10 to 20 hours per week, Tuesday through Sunday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Pay: $11.00 to $12.50 per hour depending on experience and status.
- Work Modality: On-site.
