    About the role#

    Baylor University is hiring a Student Worker to serve as a Fitness Instructor and Trainer for the FitWell program during the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves leading group exercise sessions, including F45 classes, for the campus community. You will help maintain a safe environment while encouraging students and staff to stay active.

    What you'll do#

    • Plan and lead group fitness classes that follow established safety guidelines.
    • Monitor participants to ensure they use proper technique and posture.
    • Provide guidance on general fitness and wellness questions.
    • Maintain the security and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
    • Assist with risk reduction and emergency response procedures.
    • Deliver customer service to all clients and visitors.

    What you'll need#

    • A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
    • Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
    • CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of starting).
    • Strong ability to motivate class participants.
    • A collaborative mindset for working with a team.
    • While teaching experience is preferred, it is not required.
    • Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.

    Location & details#

    • Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
    • Schedule: 6 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM.
    • This is a paid, on-site student position starting in the Fall 2027 term.
