About the role#
Baylor University is hiring a Student Worker to serve as a Fitness Instructor and Trainer for the FitWell program during the 2026-2027 academic year. This role involves leading group exercise sessions, including F45 classes, for the campus community. You will help maintain a safe environment while encouraging students and staff to stay active.
What you'll do#
- Plan and lead group fitness classes that follow established safety guidelines.
- Monitor participants to ensure they use proper technique and posture.
- Provide guidance on general fitness and wellness questions.
- Maintain the security and cleanliness of the facility and equipment.
- Assist with risk reduction and emergency response procedures.
- Deliver customer service to all clients and visitors.
What you'll need#
- A nationally recognized group exercise certificate.
- Ability to pass a State of Texas criminal background check.
- CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days of starting).
- Strong ability to motivate class participants.
- A collaborative mindset for working with a team.
- While teaching experience is preferred, it is not required.
- Preferred majors include Kinesiology, Health Administration, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: McLane Student Life Center, Waco, Texas.
- Schedule: 6 to 20 hours per week, with shifts available between 5:45 AM and 10:00 PM.
- This is a paid, on-site student position starting in the Fall 2027 term.
