About the role#
The Mayborn Event Host helps deliver organized experiences for museum guests. You will support birthday parties and various public or private events. This role requires you to work independently to prepare spaces and assist guests throughout their visit. You will need to stay engaged, anticipate needs, and take ownership of your assigned events.
What you'll do#
- Set up and break down event spaces with attention to detail.
- Act as an on-site host to provide a helpful presence for guests.
- Monitor the flow of events and address issues as they happen.
- Communicate with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Keep event areas clean, organized, and ready for guests.
What you'll need#
- Initiative to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A strong sense of responsibility and follow-through.
- Ability to adapt to changing needs during events.
- Professional and friendly communication skills when interacting with guests.
- Good time management and attention to detail.
- Majors in Communications, Business Administration, or Psychology are preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Mayborn Museum, Waco, Texas.
- Term: Summer 2026.
- Schedule: 5 to 15 hours per week with flexible hours.
- Availability: Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Status: This is a paid, on-site, part-time position.
