About the role#
Bernhard hires interns to gain experience in mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. This is a full-time, paid position that runs on a rolling basis. You will work under the supervision of project managers and departmental staff to learn company procedures and contribute to ongoing operations.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of expectations and goals to guide your internship and evaluation.
- Assist teams with project estimating and business operations.
- Collect information to create or update files, documents, spreadsheets, databases, and schedules.
- Prepare reports and presentations.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings.
- Participate in learning experiences like orientations, jobsite tours, and safety inspections.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited university studying Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a business major.
- Reliable daily transportation.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a willingness to handle various ongoing projects.
- Ability to work independently under daily supervision.
Location & details#
- Roles are based on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, or Houston and Coppell, Texas.
- Travel to job sites or office locations may be required up to 5% of the time.
- Work involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, climbing stairs, and occasional light lifting of up to 20 pounds.
