About the role#
Bernhard is seeking a Sustainability Intern to support our projects in mechanical installations for hospitals, hotels, and institutional facilities. This role is designed for students who want to gain practical experience and further their education in the utility system construction industry.
What you'll do#
- Create a master checklist of goals and expectations to guide your internship.
- Assist departments and teams with project tasks, estimating, and business operations.
- Prepare reports and presentations as needed.
- Attend departmental and jobsite meetings.
- Participate in learning experiences such as jobsite tours, safety inspections, and orientations.
- Collect information and manage files, documents, spreadsheets, and databases.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related business major.
- Reliable transportation to work daily.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to handle various ongoing projects.
- Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of your primary scope of work when necessary.

- This role is located in New Orleans, Louisiana.
- The position is on-site and full-time.
- This is a paid internship with a rolling term.
