About the role#
This is a 12-month full-time internship position for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the BMO team to gain practical skills while contributing to real projects. This role involves working mostly independently to solve strategic problems, analyze data, and support project teams across the full lifecycle. You will apply the BMO Risk Management Framework to ensure your work aligns with bank policies and regulations.
What you'll do#
- Investigate and identify strategies to optimize business operations and services.
- Define business requirements to inform technology builds and operations.
- Source and analyze market and business data to evaluate project impacts.
- Review and document business processes while collaborating with stakeholders.
- Assess the efficiency and performance of technology systems.
- Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot system workflow issues and malfunctions.
- Develop project documents and artifacts for various stakeholders.
- Build test cases to validate business requirements and end-user testing results.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on strategic problem analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program with an intention to return to studies.
- Pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Computer Science.
- Foundational proficiency in Agile delivery, data analysis, and systems thinking.
- Experience or coursework in business requirements definition, functional analysis, and application design.
- Ability to perform process improvement and organization optimization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Collaborative mindset and effective team-working abilities.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on learning agility.
- Familiarity with stakeholder management and business architecture frameworks.
