About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for the Summer 2027 term in Newark, Delaware. This role offers the chance to work on active land development projects and gain insight into the full site design process. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
What you'll do#
- Learn the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Understand the stages of the land development process from concept to construction.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to create concept, grading, stormwater management, utility system, and soil erosion plans.
- Collaborate with the project team to coordinate and drive project progress.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn.
- Interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided if you are not yet proficient.
