About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Manhattan office for the Summer 2027 term. This role offers hands-on experience in land development and site design. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use projects. You will gain insight into the full site development process from concept through construction.
What you'll do#
- Create design plans including concept, grading, stormwater management, utility systems, and soil erosion and sediment control.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to support project design and documentation.
- Collaborate with the project team to drive development projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Master degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine interest in civil site design, land development, and problem-solving.
