About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern for our Towson, Maryland office for the Summer 2027 term. This full-time, on-site role provides an opportunity to gain insight into the daily operations of a civil engineering firm. You will work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and permitting of commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments. This position is paid and requires current work authorization in the United States.
What you'll do#
- Learn the stages of the land development and site design process from concept to construction.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility system, and soil erosion and sediment control plans.
- Collaborate with project teams to coordinate and drive development projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Mathematics, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Curiosity and a motivation to learn.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided if you are not yet proficient.
