About the role#
Bohler is seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Nashville, Tennessee office for the Spring 2027 term. You will work on active land development projects and gain insight into the full site design process, from initial concept to construction. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside engineers, designers, and project managers on commercial, residential, industrial, and mixed-use developments.
What you'll do#
- Experience the day-to-day operations of a civil engineering and site design firm.
- Learn the stages of the land development and site design process.
- Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design concept, grading, stormwater management, utility, and soil erosion plans.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to drive projects forward.
- Research zoning ordinances and coordinate with local jurisdictions.
- Visit project sites to observe field conditions and the engineering process in action.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to design and process improvements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil, Environmental, Biosystems, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, though training is provided if you are not yet proficient.
- Curiosity and motivation to learn in a team-oriented environment.
